I know, I know… Halloween hasn’t happened yet and here we are looking at Christmas.

As I was doing a little mid-week shop at Costco (I do go several times a week as I am crazy) I was struck by all the Christmas and seasonal stuff that was populating the aisles… I am putting Christmas lights on the exterior of the house this year, no excuses! And those Sylvania stay-lit 100pk boxes are probably going to be my go-to.

Sylvania Stay-Lit 100 C6 LED lights

They’re LED’s but they’re the warm white color and they don’t seem to have that LED flicker that the bright white ones seem to have, which I find kind of annoying, so these are perfect.

I also am going to grab the Prime indoor/outdoor timer 2pk as well so we can get the Christmas tree, and the lights set up on them. I love coming home at night to a Christmas tree already on!

There’s lots of other items as well, from Christmas cards (obviously the “Peanuts” ones are the better of the choices) to wrapping paper, which I still have a ton of from last years Costco Christmas shop; Artificial trees, large illuminated yard decorations- The sparkly “72 lamp post & the Snowman greeter, and don’t forget all the delicious chocolate that I need to make sure I stay away from… Too early to have that sitting around as I will find a way to eat all of it, and I haven’t even gotten Halloween candy yet; this could pose a problem. Christmas candy and Halloween candy in the house at the same time is trouble!

Yes, as I was thinking about Christmas lights (in September, I know I know) I thought I’d share that whole section with all of you as well so you can start planning for your Holiday season.

I would like to extend a big-big-HUGE thank you to everyone who commented this week offering condolences. I appreciate it so much and was touched by all the kind words…. THANK YOU! This really does feel like an extended family here, which is a big part of why I love doing this every week. So again THANK YOU!

***MOVING UPDATE***

Ewok and Dexter are starting to come around to the new house.

Cats of Costco

Dexter is finding new places to sleep on clean clothes of course.

And Ewok is finding plants to hide under on the back deck.

I put up a few bird feeders in the last couple of days so I think he thinks he’s invisible under there…He is not. I know the pics are a little fuzzy below but we’ve already got a few Blue Jays stopping by to say hello, which is great! Hopefully our American Robins will make an appearance soon too!

It’s been nice getting accustomed to the new place, and I’ll continue to keep you all updated on projects as they happen (The T.V. wall mount is next!) and all the wildlife we encounter.

So I’ll leave it there and say have a great weekend Costco family, happy shopping!

Cheers.

  1. Wow…. you are amazing! Where do you find the time and energy? As much as I truly despise seeing Christmas stuff out SO early (while shopping this week, I heard carols coming from that damn animated village and wanted to stab myself in the ear 😏), I will thank you for your work, if not the products lol. Cheers from Waterdown!

    • Hahaha, that’s funny… I know it does seem a bit early for sure.
I do enjoy my coffee and my Costco and my Costco family so there will always be time for doing this!

  2. Thank you. I was happy for an early peek as I haven’t checked out those aisles yet. Costco Waterloo has been very busy with back to school — two universities here in town. I’ve only had patience to get around for the basics.

    • Hey there Shelly, I feel that pain. Kingston has Queens University, St. Lawrence College AND the Royal Military College so we add at least 50,000 to our population each year… Back to school shopping time??? forget about it! More like stay at home time!

  3. Love this! Thanks for sharing. When life is so busy it’s nice to see this stuff so shopping is less time and helps to plan ahead!

    • That’s great Carolyn! I’m glad you enjoy the blog and that it saves you some time and money, planning ahead is always a good idea… Especially when it comes to Costco, otherwise I spend waaayyy too much money.
