It’s always fun to see the new seasonal items start to creep into the aisles at Costco, but it also makes you realize how quickly the time is going!

I know this because some back to school items have made their way in… Not the whole aisle yet, but maybe 5 or 6 things. Laminated charts & maps, staedler pencils, Bic highlighters to name a few.

Costco still had lots of face masks and toilet paper so that’s a good thing. But no Lysol wipes… I overheard an employee “saying you’ve gotta get here really early to get your hands on those” So if you’re still trying to get some of those, I’d recommend heading over before they open up.

Speaking which there was a new cleaning product on the shelf as well, which claims to be effective at eliminating COVID-19 on surfaces.

Might be a good cleaning weapon to add to your arsenal perhaps? Something to stash away for a rainy day or pack away in your next quarantine kit, you know… for next time!

As we are all getting back to normal I think it’s important to remember that we’re not out of the weeds yet, and each province has their own Health recommendations based on the provinces individual risk assessment and I would recommend that you follow the recommendations for your specific province. Information can be found at the following websites.

Ontario COVID-19 information

Quebec COVID-19 information

Newfoundland COVID-19 information

P.E.I. COVID-19 information

New Brunswick COVID-19 information

Nova Scotia COVID-19 information

So there you go, a little reading material for you.

And there you have it, browse away folks!

Have a fantastic & safe weekend, see you on Monday.

  1. Can I just post a little piece of advice, stay away from any appliances from Samsung, the quality is absolute crap, I bought a fridge and have regretted it from the get go.

  2. Hi Lorraine & Renate, the deal these days with appliances is you can’t count on a brand name being all good or all bad across their product line. Different items are possibly made by other companies for a particular brand and result in inconsistent qualities and customer satisfaction. Unfortunately that means so much homework on the consumer’s part that we never had to do in the past, when we could rely on “Maytag” quality. I’ve had a Samsung front load washer and dryer for about 8 years and they’ve been very good. However when I was shopping for a new frig, reviews on Samsungs were awful. My Bosch dishwasher is fab but I wouldn’t buy a washer/dryer in that brand. My new frig is a Fisher & Paykel which I would highly recommend.
Nothing in life is easy anymore. 🙄 Cheers!

  3. For some reason I no longer got the email reminders of your updates. They stopped about a month ago. I even signed up using a new email address but the same thing happens or doesn’t happen I should say. Is anyone else having the same problem?

    • That’s odd Debbie. Have you check your spam folder and/or email settings to make sure they aren’t being re-directed?

  4. Thanks for sharing! I’ve been looking for a smaller space freezer for weeks and they are always sold out. Appreciate the weekend update!

  5. I don’t understand why they’re selling a turf builder now that says to apply in early spring when it’s already summer! Is there a grass expert that can demystify this? lol

    • Hi Sheena, they didn’t sell all of it so they’re clearing it out. When the price ends in a “7”, that’s a hint that it’s been marked down. That said, you could buy it to use next spring.
Scott’s website says it’s a fertilizer too but I couldn’t find any info about the nutrient ratios. It also claimed it can be used in the fall. In my experience, corn gluten does a lousy job and isn’t worth the money or effort but other folks may disagree 🤗 Hope that helps!

      • Ooops, I meant to say that “corn gluten” is the “natural” ingredient used these days as a weed killer/preventative, ever since the Ontario government decided to make effective weed killer illegal. Well, except for golf courses…. 🙄
