Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Kirkland Signature Chocolate Lover’s Cookie Pack and the Costco Khloud Protein Popcorn.

I found these lemon blueberry muffins in the freezer section at Costco and decided to pick them up as a quick snack or breakfast. I’ved tried the Veggies Made Great Spinach Egg White Frittatas in the past. The box has 20 muffins and I paid $18.99 Canadian which is pretty expensive considering the muffins are pretty small.

Each muffin is packed individually and they need to be kept frozen. The expiry date is over a year from when I purchased them. You can heat them from frozen in the microwave in the bag they come in but I don’t love the idea of heating things in plastic. If you’re also like me you can microwave them without the wrapper and they taste pretty much the same.

One muffin has 120 calories, three grams of fat, 21 grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fibre, 10 grams of sugar, three grams of protein and 170 milligrams of sodium. They are gluten, soy and nut free.

These are just okay, I tried them with my four year old and noticed right away the texture is pretty sponger and they’re a little dry. They have a strong lemon flavor that’s kind of artificial tasting even though there’s no artificial flavors. Their isn’t many blueberries and you have to bite into a blueberry to actually taste the flavor so it’s basically like a dry, spongey lemon muffin.
