Holy heat wave Batman!
Looks like it’s gonna be HOT, HOT, HOT for the next 3-ish days so we’re all gonna have to find ways to beat the heat.
That means everyone take care to drink enough water, wear loose- light colored clothing & try to stay in cool/air conditioned places. You know, places like Costco! (Here’s some info on how to stay cool, and how to identify heat stroke/exhaustion)
Thankfully the line up to get in wasn’t too long so we weren’t in the heat for too long.
What does like having the heat too long? Well the tomato and pepper plants do!
The lettuce and cilantro are doing OK with it as well.
Mmmmm delicious. But lettuce get back to Costco briefly before I let you go.
(Groucho would’ve appreciated that one, actually I think Chico would’ve done better with that one.)
Costco actually had Lysol wipes (albeit, by the time I saw them there were 5 packs left) masks and digital thermometers today, which I was tempted (almost a pun) to buy but passed.
Think I’ll do some research before I just grab it… But could be handy in the future.
Speaking of that…
As we are all getting back to normal I think it’s important to remember that we’re not out of the weeds yet, and each province has their own Health recommendations based on the provinces individual risk assessment and I would recommend that you follow the recommendations for your specific province. Information can be found at the following websites.
Newfoundland COVID-19 information
New Brunswick COVID-19 information
Nova Scotia COVID-19 information
So there you go, a little reading material for you.
I’ll keep it to that folks, Enjoy your Hot weekends and I’ll see you on Monday.
Same Bat time, same Bat channel!
Please note:
The price at your local Costco takes precedent (or precedence) over the prices listed on this blog.
Costco liquidation/Manager’s Special items (ending in .97) vary from store to store.
An asterisk (*) on the price tag means the item is not being re-ordered.
If there is something you really want, ***double check the expiry date*** as some Costco sales items do end mid-week.

The food brands available can differ from region to region. Pictures are taken at a store in Ontario. Sale items should apply to Costco locations in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Nova Scotia, if the item is in stock at your store. There will likely be a few deals not shown here in your store. If this blog has helped you save money, consider sharing www.cocoeast.ca with your friends and family! If you see deals at your store that aren’t on this blog, post them in the comments and help spread the money saving love!
I picked up a pair of those Crocs ladies sandals at Barrhaven location this week….SO comfy! Thanks for your hard work, it’s always a ‘pun’ read!
Thanks Mary, I wore Crocs at work for years and they always served me well!
Stay safe and healthy!
What a great job on the garden!!!
I’m thinking of picking up one of those thermometers, I will let you know what I think.
That would be great Libby, I think I’m gonna grab one on Monday when I head back. Might be a good addition to the emergency kit regardless, ya know?
I went to Costco Anjou yesterday, at 5:45pm…and I got the scare of my life: carts are “barely” desinfected that people were grabbing them and running toward the entrance, besides people grabbing carts in the parking lot and rushing straight toward the entrance just as well. No more 6 feet (2m) of safe distance as there was no waiting line at all and maybe 20% of the patrons were mask wearers – even Costco employees walking the ailes weren’t wearing masks. I even saw a guy whose medical 3 pleats mask was hanging from the 3rd button of his golf shirt, not to mention those who wear their mask under their chin… I better stay home for my mental health!
Hi Josee, I’m so sorry to hear that! It’s incredibly disrespectful of folks to behave that way. I’m looking forward to individual municipalities making it mandatory to wear masks indoors in public spaces. So far, I’m aware that Kingston, Toronto and Guelph have done so. I’m not convinced that will totally solve the problem but it will hopefully give businesses the encouragement they seem to need to require masks on everyone. “No masks? No service!” In my experience, shopping around people who willfully disregard the measures put in place to protect us is incredibly stressful. Stay safe and sane.
You’re right Jan, they’re mandatory here in Kingston thank god.
JoseeM I’m sorry to hear that… You would think that people would have some sense that this is still a serious matter and for the sake of all of us we still need to be very careful. Jan is right, here in Kingston masks are mandatory when you go inside ANY business and it will help reduce transmission… Studies have proven it! I can’t speak for what happens at other Costco warehouses but I know ours still has a line and while not limiting to 50 people (those were the days!) they are still limiting traffic and people are keeping 6 feet apart.
With anything though it’s important to do things you feel safe doing, and if you aren’t ready to go out into that madness you shouldn’t. You can still come here and get your Costco fix any time though!
Stay safe and healthy JoseeM, see you on Monday!
Your garden is looking great!!! Good healthy, fresh food.
Mary R., thanks for the review of the Crocs ladies sandals. They look very comfortable, might have to get some.
That key lime pie is calling my name, I love it!
Thanks again for all your hard work on our behalf, we really appreciate it! 🙂
Thank you Layla Bay, I kinda wish I could have some for breakfast right now!
Your veggies look fantastic!!
I’m shocked we had Lysol wipes, will see if there are any when I go tomorrow, where they at the front of the store?
I hope if you are working they have air conditioning, it’s super hot again today.
Keep cool and stay safe!
I was in disbelief! They were on a skid near where the line up for the cash is, just at that last endcap.
Though I will say the masks I got are pretty uhhh crappy. at least 6 or 7 of them had one of the straps pop off, I think they’ve made too many and are using a cheaper adhesive now…
Oh well, 2 new reusable masks are in the mail now!
We have the AC indeed, though I’m not much of a fan of it. More of a fan of fans, and that’s alot of fans for one sentence!
Stay safe and healthy and cool Jennifer!
Thanks so much for your updates. I follow you faithfully 😁 just wondering if anyone knows if those Erie Meats hotdogs are gluten free? Thanks!
Thank you Cynthia, I’m not certain but when I go tomorrow I’ll have a look for you. Cheers!
I looked today, didn’t see and gluten in the ingredients
