Hello friends and sale hunters, I hope all is well on this toasty July evening! Sorry this is up late, my work schedule was a little different this week due to me picking up a few extra days so I had to work today and then rush to Costco to do my shopping so better late than never right?

First off I’d like to say that I hope all my readers in the Toronto area are doing ok, my thoughts and prayers go out to all of the people involved and affected by it.

Second there are a few recall notices to be aware of so please read up on them and check your cupboards.

Christie brand Ritz Bits Sandwiches

Only the Ritz bitz sandwiches are listed on the Costco recall page, the others are available in Ontario though so make sure you check your freezers too, nobody wants that unpleasant surprise of salmonella right? right… check your cupboard and freezer.

EDIT! As an update from reader Jack just now add Pepperidge farms Goldfish to this list. Thanks for the update Jack!

Lots of good sales on this week starting with Friskies Cat food- Hello! 20.79 for 48 cans??? That’s just nuts so it wound up in my cart and should keep Dexter and Ewok well fed for a bit (I may pick up a few more while its on sale, I mean why not right?!) Speaking of Dexter…

I caught him taking a snooze on the front porch the other day and was too cute to pass up the photo opportunity. That’s his new favorite napping location outside right now, shady, breezy, cozy… Perfect! (Ewok is doing fine too, he just hasn’t wanted to be in any pictures lately… bad hair days ya know?)

I picked up some of these Olivia Tuna steaks as well, for 11 buck getting 6 decent sized tuna steaks seems like a great deal and a girl I work with and her fiancee get these frequently and say they’re good- so I’ll take the plunge, if they’re good stock the freezer with ’em. Who doesn’t like a nice salt & pepper crusted rare tuna steak…mmmmmmm.

I also wound up with blueberries, raspberries and welsh cheddar in my cart. What’s not to like about fruit and cheese?

Anyone remember this stuff? I used to LOVE this when I was a kid, and I think as a guilty treat I got myself some from bulk barn last summer- so worth it! I just remember it seeming so fun for some reason so it took a lot of will power to not buy this today. That being said, my will power doesn’t last long and my impulse will eventually give in. I may buy some mid week because… well, because.

Duracell batteries are still on sale for a pretty darn decent price, I should probably get some but I still have a bunch of AA’s left from last time, batteries are just usually so expensive so I hate missing out on the sales when they’re on. Too bad they don’t have 9 volts on sale ever, that would nice… You listening Costco sale makers?

Summer stock is on clearance now, so I’d say if anything is striking your fancy keep an eye on it, most of those items won’t be restocked, I’ve got my eyes on some of those string lights and as soon as the price drops a bit I’m gonna snag a few.

Looking like a busy week with work and house renos so I likely won’t be bombarding you with a second post unless something cool pops up, or any recalls are posted.

Ok. It’s late now, I gotta work in the A.M. so I think it’s time to bid you adieu.

Good night all, Cheers.

(P.S. I didn’t get those heritage rock pans yet. But I might after all the positive comments you gave me about them, thank you all for the reviews!)

(P.P.S. I also finally fixed that blue picture below so that it actually takes you to the F.A.Q. section, give it a read through if you have time)

Please note:
The price at your local Costco takes precedent over the prices listed on this blog.
Costco liquidation/Manager’s Special items (ending in .97) vary from store to store.
An asterisk (*) on the price tag means the item is not being re-ordered.

If there is something you really want, ***double check the expiry date*** as some Costco sales items do end mid-week.

The food brands available can differ from region to region. Pictures are taken at a store in Ontario. Sale items should apply to Costco locations in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Nova Scotia, if the item is in stock at your store. There will likely be a few deals not shown here in your store. If this blog has helped you save money, consider sharing www.cocoeast.ca with your friends and family! If you see deals at your store that aren’t on this blog, post them in the comments and help spread the money saving love!

      • Hello do you guys bring back the gold fish and ritz crackers?? To Costco for refund?? Or do we just dump them? Lol

        • From the CFIA agency website. “What you should do

If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor.

Check to see if you have recalled products in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.”
          Just don’t eat them Bing…

  1. Thank you so much — I know I may not find all of the items at our store at these great prices BUT I plan on trying —- thank you — I shop year round for gifts at great prices for my family for special occasions and I now have a long list and will need a large cart —- thank you and have a great week —

  2. Thank you so much for your efforts and always great job. I haven’t seen the Kirkland paper towel on sale for a very long time and wonder how the ‘secret sales’ are chosen. Also, do you know anything about their (Kirkland) protein bars that were removed from the shelves but are available in the States? Thanks again.

    • I don’t believe that Kirkland paper towels ever go on sale. Their price has actually gone up – US tariffs…

      • Agree Don, I havn’t seen them on sale though I havn’t been keeping tabs on the price so I don’t know about the increase… Thanks for the update though!

    • From the Costco twitter feed responding to “John” apparently.
Hi John. As a result of discussions between the manufacturer and the Federal Government, the manufacturer has decided to reformulate the bars. We appreciate your interest and look forward to having our reformulated bars in our Canadian locations soon. Thank you! ~James
I guess they’ll be back soon.
As for the paper towels I’m not sure I’ve seen them on sale and as for how they chose the sales your guess is as good as mine… Dart board in the back, random chosen card in 52 pick-up? managerial sorcery perhaps?

    • That’s great Sherry, I’m glad I can make things a bit easier for you and hopefully save you some money!

  3. Love the snap of Dexter. Perfect spot for him, I’m sure he is happy that Friskies is on sale. Thanks for that. I’ll get some.

  4. Thank you so much for all the information on these secret sales. This is the first time I’ve seen this, I really appreciate the time you spent getting this info to everybody. I look forward to seeing other items you tell us about.

    • Hi Lorraine, thank you for reading! I’m glad you enjoy the treasure hunt sales and hope you enjoy the blog as well! Keep checking back for more goodies every monday!

    • Thank you Shawna I’m glad you like the blog and hopefully it helps you plan your trips to Costco and saves some time and money!

  5. Love the pic of Dexter! He sure does have the life haha
I love that you follow the prices of the items as they are cleared out. Ie Summer items. There’s a few items I’ve been trying to watch myself but with 2 small children I don’t always make the trip. You do the legwork for me so I know when to hurry in! Thanks a bunch! 🙂

    • Haha, yes Dexter is leading a pretty sweet life…spoiled little cat!.. well not so little I guess. I’m glad that the blog saves you some time and money and hopefully helps you find the items you need i.e. the summer clearout stuff… Crazy that it’s almost August!!!

  6. I’ve been looking for the Vizio 65″ all over in and around Mtl. They’re selling it at 1300$ however its the M65-F0 and not E0. I’d like to know what area is still selling them? Thanks for all the great work!! Much appreciated.

    • You’re welcome Peter, The Kingston, ON. location is the one I took those pics at so your best bet would be to give them a call and see if they can hold one for you. It’s my pleasure doing this, I’m glad you enjoy!

  7. I’m just a little late here but I HAD to let you know about those ladies plaid flannel shirts… at $13.99, they are an AMAZING price, never mind last week’s price of $9.99! I wanted a red and black one last winter and couldn’t find one anywhere so pounced on this one. Yesterday, I was in Eddie Bauer and theirs were $90.00!!!! similar look and quality… I nearly yelled WTF but managed to control myself lol.

    • hahaha, it’s usually best to not yell while shopping. At least in my experience.
And yes the flannel shirts looked pretty sweet and it’s hard to beat that price as you’ve pointed out.
