Costco Good Friday/Easter Weekend Update April 10th 2020

Hello and Happy Good Friday Costconians! (I don’t know, does that title work??? Costonites? CostCanadians???)

Well hopefully everyone has had a good week and are safe & healthy! (We are doing fine but a little stir-crazy, as I’m sure most of you are too.)

… Sums up a portion of my day I think during COVID-19…

We did however make some delicious “Quarantinis” as the internet has been calling them.

quarantini

Really just you’re basic delicious Vodka Martini, but with a clever & appropriate  name… I’m in! (and they were delicious as well!)

So Costco has some Easter Holiday closures as I’m sure some of you have already seen.

…Closed on Sunday. So plan ahead for the weekend! (Though it appears they’re good to go on Monday!)

That being said, make sure you look up local business hours as it appears in Ontario most grocery stores and pharmacies will be closed as well.

More on that here from global news.

In other local news, we have sort of made friends with the new cows down the road. They seem to want to come over and say hello when we walk by now. ( the little ones always seem to be the first to come by and see what we’re doing)

They’re very cute, and very calm. They see us walking by and give us a glance and start heading over to say Hi.

I’ll end on the cows.

I hope you all have a great Easter holiday full of Family Zoom conferences, facetime, Whats-app (I think?) and lots of phone calls to each other.

This will certainly be a different Holiday for a lot of us, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. It’s a perfect time to reconnect with old friends and see how they’re doing! Family who you don’t call enough, time to check in! Cows down the street, visit daily and offer to bring them home (which is what my partner would like to do, and would say “well, yes obviously! All the babies need to come home with me. Let’s go, follow Mama home, come on Woo-Hoo!” and proceed to try and lure the cows away… Trust me, I see it on a daily basis… It really does happen folks.

As crazy as things are I’d like to wish you all a Happy Easter.

So I’ll do that, Happy Easter!

If anyone feels like they need to reach out, share their Holiday cheer, family stories, recipes, Cow pictures of your own please feel free to do it!

Be safe folks, see you in a few days.

  1. Wishing you a happy Easter! Difficult times to say the least. Hate to ask cause of all the “real” problems out there but wondered if you had heard any rumblings of how the6 will handle their garden centre. I have always bought all my hanging baskets and other garden supplies from Costco. We all need some cheer at this point so I am hoping they will all still be available. Thanks!

    • Hi Cathy, I’m not sure about that to be honest… I have to stand too far away from people to hear any “rumblings” these days, haha!
AS soon as I do though, I’ll post here!

  2. Hope you have a tasty stress free Easter. I opened our front door today to find a handmade card from a young (6?) neighbour wishing us a great day…. I was so touched! I managed to find some chocolate eggs and delivered them to her front door tonight wearing some bunny ears, just in case they see me on their security video lol. On Wednesday, another neighbour left her amazing chocolate chip cookies on our porch! Wow. Just wow!

    • Awww, that’s really sweet Jan! Seems like in times like this the best can come out of us. That’s very sweet of the yound one to leave you a card, and even sweeter that you delivered some eggs in a “disguise” Adorable!
Stay safe and healthy Jan, as always thank you for the support!

  3. Walmart no frills at South common mall are open no frills has a line up shoppers don’t and. Walmart not to busy yet Costco is open but treat every one you deal with at all theses stores with respect like you want given to you because some have family members that are senoirs and other health problems but they come to work to serve us so just take a second and say thank you it is 2 easy words l been out to GT Shoppers this morning and said thank you to the staff and it gave them a smile

    • Yes James, being kind and saying thank you is important! These people are still working and dealing with lots of unhappy and impatient people so it’s important to try and remain patient and kind! We’ll all get through this together.
