There’s plenty of new items to check out this weekend, one that looked particularly delicious were the Pinty’s boneless crispy chicken thighs.
I’ve had their wings before and enjoyed them & these look like a tasty crunchy treat! I’m sure they’re delicious just with a few dips, but I could see them being great cut up in tacos, or a wrap of some kind… Crispy Chicken Caesar warp anyone?
And how could I resist anything garlic related? I can’t, so I’m really, really curious about this garlic sauce! I mean, I suppose it would be a great dip for those crispy chicken thighs, right?
If garlic isn’t your thing (and why wouldn’t it be? If you’re a vampire I suppose…), then maybe you’re looking to pull anchor and add to your nautical LEGO adventures & collections!
That set looks super cool and probably fun to build, and the best part is the ship hull floats!
Maybe you’d like to mess around with marbles and gravity instead? I didn’t know what this was all about until very recently, but it looks really cool. I mean I’m not a kid, but I certainly wouldn’t complain about having one of these show up… There’s all kinds of different kits you can get to add and make a crazy track that the marbles follow, do tricks, and eventually even return to the start and go again! (Say goodbye to the spare room…)
This is clearly the time of year where extra things get plugged in all over the place, so having some decent extension cords is always a good idea, I picked up a pack of these a few years ago when they were on sale.
With the weather clearly getting ready to turn, it’s time to either break out the winter coats or make sure you pick one up soon. Costco had these two close to the entrance, and they both felt like pretty decent quality and weights. Might even be time for me to consider a new jacket…
I’ll wrap it up now folks and let you explore the good stuff on your own.
I hope you have a great weekend, and I’ll see you soon!
Because it’s Remembrance Day I though I’d share a few pictures of my Grandparents who served during the second World War. My Dads parents Helen and Bud, who served in the Wrens and the RCAF (though Bud enlisted he was too young and didn’t get overseas). And my Mom’s father Walt, who served in both the Canadian Army and the Royal Canadian Navy. (8th from the bottom right, second row)
Please feel free to share your own stories and family histories below as well, I’d love to hear them!
Have a wonderful day tomorrow, and I’ll see you soon.
Don’t forget to check in with Rhonda over at the Costco Quebec Fan Blog and see what fun sales are happening there!
The Grape Leaves Garlic Sauce is amazing. They make it here. It’s Toum, the same garlic sauce they put on shawarma wraps and such. They also make one with extra garlic and a habanero one. Love the habanero one, never had the extra garlic. – never saw a need for it, i think this one has more than enough.
Oh wow! When I read “Middle Eastern style garlic sauce”, I wondered if it could be toum??? I love love toum! Then I just read your note…. thanks so much!

Hi Neil, the TVs at Costco are great, especially if you get one on sale. (Black Friday is coming up!) From what I know know the Hisense and TCL are OK, but I would say Smamsung, Sony and LG are going to be the ones to go with. We’ve had a Sony (that my Mom now has) for 14 or 15 years and still works just fine, and have a Samsung at home now for 4 years and works great! I’m not an avid gamer and don’t really get to much into the crazy contrast features and all that, so while I’m sure you could find a spectacular and huge TV for a fair chunk of change, you can find a reliable one in the $700 range that should do the trick and not break the bank.
Hi: We bought a Sony from Costco. The prices are excellent and we have been very happy. Costco, Best Buy and others have sales for Black Friday, Super Bowl, etc. so be patient and wait for a sale if you can.
We bought a hisense from there 2 years ago and paid the extra for warranty… it crapped put just in time to still use the warranty and dealing with them was great! They couldn’t fix the issue so gave us the credit and we bought the same one again, and again paid for extra warranty, totally worth it!
That was great to see your grandparents’ pics from the war. Thank you.
My dad was a pilot in the RAF (flew a Mosquito) and did some of his training in Canada. While stationed at Mt. Hope in Hamilton, flying planes for navigators training, he met my mom at church in downtown Hamilton. They eventually married after the war in England then moved to Hamilton to live and raise a family. My maternal grandfather was in the British army in WW1 but never really talked about it. He threw his medals away after the war was over. Sadly, many soldiers were sacrificed due to the incompetence and bad decisions of those in command.
We must never forget. 🌺
I wish I could see some pictures of your Dad as well! The de Havillands were an important part of the big picture over there!
I can only imagine how difficult it must be and have been to go through something so horrific… As you said, We must never forget.

Haha, fair enough. The habanero one sounds like it would be delicious!

How are the tvs from Costco? Anyone had issues with them? Is Hisense or TCL good to or is Samsung the one to go with?

I’ve bought both TCL and Hisense at Costco – both have been fantastic, no problems – and very reasonably priced.
Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.
Thanks for sharing the pictures of your grandparents. We do remember. ❤️
I think Dexter and Ewok might like the Gravitrax . Just sayin. Lol
Thanks for sharing a bit of history!!
Thanks for all of your hard work, it is really appreciated!
Thanks also for sharing the photos of your Grandparents, very special 💓

Btw, please tell your mom for me, her dad was one handsome dude! 😉
Oooh lala, thank you Jan I will! Though she reads this too, so she’s probably seen this by now!
Yes! I think I’ve noticed her posts but couldn’t remember her name! 🤔😁
