Quebec restriction of customers admitted to commercial establishments
Hello & happy Sunday Costco friends and family!
This post is geared towards the Costco members in the Quebec region as the government of Quebec has some new measures in place to (hopefully) help slow the spread of COVID-19.
I thought I’d share with you as they are now limiting the amount of customers allowed to be in commercial establishments based on the size of the building.
That is from the Quebec.ca website. (you can follow that link for more information)
So most Costco warehouses would be limited to about 450 people (warehouse sq. footage dependent) at a time.
That hasn’t been an issue for me in Ontario (where we’ve had these restrictions in place) as I plan my trips around the quieter hours. (usually right at open, mid-day or a few hours before close)
If you live in a larger city you should plan around this as you may have to wait in line to get in, so you should go in prepared for the weather! (I made the mistake of not planning ahead a few times in the early fall and wasn’t too happy about my choice of “no jacket, no hat”
In other words, don’t be like me.
Here’s some more links for you to follow for some more info on this and the retail situation in Quebec.
Costco has also stated that only membership cardholders are allowed to enter the warehouses (children excepted) so don’t bring any guests shopping with you. (They would be very disappointment if they waited in a line and got turned away!)
Hopefully this will help you plan out any shopping you need to get done in this very different and difficult Holiday season.
Stay safe and healthy folks! See you on Monday.
Since we are in the second wave of COVID-19 I think it’s important to remember that we’re not out of the corona virus weeds yet, and each province has their own Health recommendations based on the provinces individual risk assessment and I would recommend that you follow the recommendations for your specific province. Information can be found at the following websites.
Newfoundland COVID-19 information
New Brunswick COVID-19 information
Nova Scotia COVID-19 information
So there you go, a little reading material for you.
Be kind, be safe and stay healthy!
Please note:
The price at your local Costco takes precedent (or precedence) over the prices listed on this blog.
Costco liquidation/Manager’s Special items (ending in .97) vary from store to store.
An asterisk (*) on the price tag means the item is not being re-ordered.
If there is something you really want, ***double check the expiry date*** as some Costco sales items do end mid-week.
***This is a fan run, independent page with no affiliation or endorsement by Costco Wholesale***
The food brands available can differ from region to region. Pictures are taken at a store in Ontario. Sale items should apply to Costco locations in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Nova Scotia, if the item is in stock at your store. There will likely be a few deals not shown here in your store. If this blog has helped you save money, consider sharing www.cocoeast.ca with your friends and family! If you see deals at your store that aren’t on this blog, post them in the comments and help spread the money saving love!
Thanks!! Stay safe.
You too Alex, thank you!
Thank you!
You’re welcome Zabel, thank you for reading and for your support.

Yes Emilie this is true. Only members with their membership cards can enter at this point.
