Hey there folks, just a quick little post here to let you know about this Sliced White Mushroom recall notice. While it doesn’t affect a product sold at Costco, it’s still something that we should all be aware of!
As Per the CFIA…
Ottawa, October 25, 2021 – Carleton Mushroom is recalling Sliced White Mushrooms prepared for Metro Brands from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled product described below.

Check to see if you have the recalled product in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
A recall issued Monday is for sliced white mushrooms from Carleton Mushroom in the 227-gram package with a best before date of Oct. 25, 2021.
Consumers are advised to throw out the recalled mushrooms or return them to the store where they were purchased.
The recall was issued due to testing by the CFIA. There have been no reported illnesses relating to the product.

“Carleton Mushroom is recalling Sliced White Mushrooms prepared for Metro Brands from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled product, the CFIA said in its “food recall warning” issued late Monday (Oct. 25).
Metro spokesperson Stephanie Bonk said the product has been removed from Food Basics shelves and is not sold at Metro.
“If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor,” the CFIA said. “Check to see if you have the recalled product in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.”
Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick, according to Health Canada.”
So there you go folks, take a look in your fridge, check out your mushrooms and make sure to follow the directions of the CFIA when it comes to food safety!
