Crispy Simply Protein Bars Review

Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Kirkland Signature Banana Toffee Cake.

If you like my reviews for Costco food products, the best thing is that you can follow me on Instagram or Facebook and tell your friends about my blog Costcuisine, where I review new Costco food products each week! You can also check out my YouTube channel, where I do video reviews.

I saw these crispy protein bars at Costco this week while shopping and decided to pick them up to try. I paid $19.99 Canadian for the box of 16 bars.

There are two kinds of bars in the box, dark chocolate almond and peanut butter chocolate. Each bar is individually wrapped and the best before date is around a year from when I purchased them. These work as a snack or breakfast on the go.

The bars are gluten-free, dairy-free and have no artificial sweeteners or colours which is really nice. I don’t love the taste of artificial sweeteners so I’m happy these don’t have them. The bars are 160-170 calories and contain thirteen grams of protein.

I tried both kinds and the peanut butter chocolate doesn’t really taste like peanut butter, the chocolate flavor stands out more. The chocolate almond has a strong chocolate flavor but isn’t super sweet and although there’s no artificial sweeteners in the bars, it kind of almost tastes like artificial sweetener. They’re a bit chalky and dry but I do enjoy the crispy crunchy texture of them.
