Chipwich Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwich Review

I was looking for some new frozen treats at Costco this past week for the summer and found these Chipwich ice cream sandwiches. I picked up a box of 10 for $16.99 Canadian which didn’t seem too expensive.

The ice cream sandwiches need to be kept frozen but I noticed they don’t melt right away because my daughter only had one bite and left it on a plate on the table and it took about 45 minutes before the ice cream really started to melt. There are 10 individually wrapped sandwiches in the box and the expiry date is about 14 months from when I bought them. These are a perfect sweet, cold summer treat!

One sandwich has 310 calories, 15 grams of fat, 42 grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fibre, 30 grams of sugar, three grams of protein and 130 milligrams of sodium. They’re definitely not low in calories, fat, carbs or sugar!

Personally, I prefer the Nestle Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches over these but they aren’t bad, I’ll finish my box and would probably buy them again if I’m not tired of them! The cookies are soft and chewy, not crispy. There’s lots of chocolate between the chocolate chips in the cookies and the chips surrounding the ice cream. You get a lot of crunchy texture from the surrounding chocolate chips too. The vanilla ice cream is decent, not too sweet and is smooth and creamy but it’s definitely no Haagen-Dazs.
