Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Jonny Pops Organic Rainbow Fruit Stacks, Costco Kirkland Signature Burnt Ends and the Costco Amylu Organic Maple Chicken Patties.

I saw these Bellitalia salami sticks at Costco during my last trip and picked them up as a low calorie, high protein snack. I paid $16.99 Canadian for the 600 gram bag.

The bag reseals and the best-before date is about seven months from when I purchased them. They need to be stored in the refrigerator once opened. They’re great for a quick snack or lunch and they could also be used on a charcuterie board.

In three salami sticks there are 100 calories, seven grams of fat, eight grams of protein, zero grams of fibre, one gram of sugar, one gram of carbohydrates and 570 milligrams of sodium. That’s a lot of sodium for just a small snack.

These are okay, my favorite part about them is that they’re not spicy. The casing is quite chewy and they’re pretty salty. The main flavor you taste issalt. The meat seems to be good quality but has a mild flavor. You’ll like these if you’re sensitive to spice. My four year old really likes them but they have a lot of sodium.
