Hellllo! I hope everyone has had a great week/weekend, I know I did. We finally made some headway in cleaning up our backyard and patio. I bought a pressure washer on friday, the Karcher K1710 electric pressure washer to be exact. We were debating renting one but considering that the rental would cost $40 bucks for a day and buying one was $144 after tax I think it was a pretty obvious choice. Once I got it all unpacked and read through the instruction manual (which seemed to point out how dangerous it is almost as much as how to use it) I found it pretty easy to set up and use, and holy cow did it work!!! I really feel dumb for not taking a before and after picture because it really is night and day, the deck looks clean and bright and fresh… now I just need to put a finish on it. I was thinking about trying the CIL woodcare exterior fine wood finish on it as it seems to get decent reviews and can it really be different than thompsons water seal? Probably not… Either way it will be nice to get that done in the next few days and get the patio furniture out and put to use, very exciting! (still no BBQ yet though)

Starbucks Verona dark roast is on sale this week, and as I’ve pointed out in a previous post, certain coffee aficionados in my residence really enjoy this coffee and dislike a few others, so when the opportunity strikes to stock the cupboards with “the good stuff” waste no time or brain energy on it… GET IT! It really is good stuff and for that price treat yourself, or buy it and mix it with or other coffee beans to add a little something to it.

Last week I bought the Finish dishwasher cleaner and I used one on… Tuesday??? or maybe Wednesday??? hmmm…. I used one though on one of those days and I gotta say, I totally endorse that one. Worked like a charm, the dishwasher looked clean, smelled clean, dishes afterwards seemed cleaner (placebo effect maybe?) but overall really good product, never forget your appliances need cleaning! Stock up! For that price, well, well worth it!

Roth Sriracha Gouda… good? not good? Never tried it, but I bought it because I like sriracha, and cheese is.. well who doesn’t really? I’ll update you on that one.

As usual Krill oil is on sale when I don’t need it… It’s always on sale when I don’t need it. I’ll run out and then it won’t go on sale for 6 months, I’ll buy some and then BAM!!!… on sale…

No foresight for me I guess, then again my horoscope doesn’t direct me in fish oil sales so… outta luck I guess!

Good night, I’ve got a busy week ahead of me but it’s all full of good things! I hope yours is too!

Until next week.

Cheers!

Please note:
The price at your local Costco takes precedent over the prices listed on this blog.
Costco liquidation/Manager’s Special items (ending in .97) vary from store to store.
An asterisk (*) on the price tag means the item is not being re-ordered.

If there is something you really want, ***double check the expiry date*** as some Costco sales items do end mid-week.

The food brands available can differ from region to region. Pictures are taken at a store in Ontario. Sale items should apply to Costco locations in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Nova Scotia, if the item is in stock at your store. There will likely be a few deals not shown here in your store. If this blog has helped you save money, consider sharing www.cocoeast.ca with your friends and family! If you see deals at your store that aren’t on this blog, post them in the comments and help spread the money saving love!

  1. Photo of pasta on sale doesn’t match the sign! The Tru Roots penne is in the blue bag.

Thank you for your hard work every week!

  2. What locations in Mississauga or Etobicoke or nearby carry the Dr Scholls inserts. The 2 I frequent discontinued them a while back.
    Thanks
    Ps. Love this site, thanks

  3. Costco has a policy of honouring the current sale price on items you purchased a certain numbef of week’s ago. (Not sure how many weeks). So if that krill oil you bought last week goes on sale, take go back with your receipt, , and get the difference between the sale price and what you paid, refunded.

  4. Ref last poster, you don’t even need the receipt to price match (or to have the item with you) – costco has it all in their database when they scan your card. They’ll give you back the difference.

  5. For you deck I recommend Cabot Australian oil based stain……not inexpensive but well worth the cost.
    Thanks for all your efforts.
    Cheers.
    Robert

  6. You do Indeed need the receipt for a price diff. Refund!
If you didn’t have one you could keep going in every 10 min. And saying you want the price diff. The receipt would show it’s been all Ready sign as refunded.

  7. I did a price adjust with no receipt. They mark it in the DB. They are a big company ..if they did things by pen and paper they would be out of business. Most Costco will do a 14 or 30 day price adj.

  8. Have you considered not putting a stain or finish on your deck? There’s no “rule” that says you must, and it’s a heckuva lot less work! The wood weathers to a nice grey and I just powerwash it carefully every spring to clean it.
