Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Kirkland Signature Key Lime Pie, Costco R House Organic Sweet Potato Fries, Costco Rana Cajun-Style Linguine with Chicken & Andouille Sausage and the Costco Kirkland Signature Creamy Almond Butter.

This orzo mediterranean salad is new to my Costco so I decided to pick it up to try because my house absolutely loves the Kirkland Signature Mediterranean Pasta Salad. In the package there’s 5 small containers and I paid $13.99 Canadian for the box.

The best-before is three weeks from when I bought it and this needs to be kept refrigerated. The small containers are a great size to bring to work or have at home as a lunch. You could also serve the salad as a side with steak, pork chops, chicken etc.

I like the simple ingredients list. A 3/4 cup serving contains 270 calories, 13 grams of fat, 32 grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fibre, two grams of sugar, six grams of protein and 320 mg of sodium. 3/4 of a cup is less than a full small container.

I love pasta salad but wasn’t totally in love with this one. I found that the orzo was a little too mushy for my liking. I like a firmer orzo. Although there are only a few olives in the pasta salad they seem to flavor the entire dish and even bites without olives taste like tangy olives. There isn’t a ton of vegetables but the amount of feta is fine.
