Last week on the blog I took a break because we’re currently on vacation but a few of my favorite Hawaiian Costco products are the Costco Kirkland Signature Southwest Chicken Wraps, Costco Prima Spinach & Mozarella Ravioli and the Costco Kirkland Signature Chicken Sandwich with Sauce.

I’ve reviewed the Scoiattolo vegan ravioli as well as the burrata & sicilian lemon zest ravioli and really wanted to try this new ravioli carbonara. The pack comes with two 454 gram packages of ravioli and I paid $16.99 Canadian.

This ravioli is ready in just minutes. You can pair it with red sauce, a butter sauce or just simple olive oil. I did a butter sauce. I think a side salad and some bread would be great as sides. The best before date listed is about a month from when I purchased it, I’m sure it would freeze fine.

One and a half cups of ravioli contains 530 calories, 24 grams of fat, 62 grams of carbohydrates, six grams of fibre, nine grams of sugar, 15 grams of protein and 1350 milligrams of sodium. That’s a kot of sodium! The ingredients list seems pretty straight-forward and the ravioli contains wheat, pork, milk and eggs.

The pasta itself is really nice but the texture of the filling is a bit odd, it’s like a thick paste. I like the flavor the of the filling, it’s a bit smoky and has a good amount of bacon flavor. There’s also a nice amount of filling and the pasta isn’t too doughy. I would like if there were little chunks of pork in the ravioli to add some texture.

It’s very good in taste. But hated how they wanted you to cook it for 3 mins, I have worked with fresh pasta many times, this stuff was very delicate, even though I oiled the water, I had to place it on parchment paper spaced apart so they would not stick to each other, then we had to microwave them to re-heat them before adding them into the sauce we made. Sucks they come with no sauce, we tried what package suggested but was not as good as marking our own alfredo sauce to go with it. We then tried baking some with suce, they were the best!. We let the cooked pasta come up to room temp, along with the warmed sauce, we layer them into oven safe casserole dish, added cheese on top and baked like a lasagna, yummy! Superb taste but fiddy product.
Sorry but I really can’t agree with your nutrition rating of 6/10 when the saturated fat and sodium levels are so high!
