What a scorcher!!! Holy Moly, we were HOT HOT HOT here. But hey it was a beautiful weekend so what’s there to complain about right! Well, except that Costco wasn’t open on Monday so, that kinda sucked a bit. But hey, here we are again with another big ‘ol list of sales etc. and My gosh… SNOWSUITS! There you go folks, hot and humid in July and we have snowsuits. I know people have been asking about them, and our location finally got them out.

Britta Filters are on sale this week and as we use a Britta I grabbed them obviously, at $7.00 off you can’t go wrong? Ziplock freezer bags as well are on sale and I’m sure you all know how much I love portioning and freezing things so again… Can’t go wrong.

Avocado oil is still on sale for a great price, I grabbed some a few weeks ago (before it was on sale) and love it!

Clamato Juice is on sale as well still and I love me a spicy Caesar from time to time (as most Canadians do). Anyone have a favorite recipe? I’m pretty staightforward with mine. Rim a glass with celery salt, 1 1/2 -2 oz. of vodka, as many dashes of Tabasco and worcestershire as you can handle, some of the spicy brine from a jar of pepperoncini peppers (and use one as a garnish as well) a little spoon of horseradish, then top with Clamato juice and grind some black pepper on top. Delightful!  I know people are divided on the rimming of the glass, should you use celery salt? (yes) or some people use Montreal steak spice. I’m ok with that I guess, But I find the celery salt is a pretty defining feature for me. Obviously I’ve seen a thousand different garnishes ranging from a simple lime, to the classic celery stick and lemon, to things as crazy as little cheeseburger sliders and battered & fried shrimp. I’m for all of those.

Cute right? and again, who doesn’t like Caesars??? Well, actually I know a few of ’em. Most of us have a favorite cocktail or two though, (unless you don’t drink of course, which is great too!) Dirty vodka Martinis also top my list, it’s gotta be done just right though! a tiny splash of dry vermouth, a splash (not too big) of olive brine shaken and strained so just a few of the little ice shards get into the glass garnished with 3 olives (though anywhere from 2-5 will do).  It’s not really a weekend brunch kind of cocktail… More of a night time affair I suppose. I’d go for one right now but I think it’s too close to bed time to be mixing cocktails wouldn’t you agree? (at least for a Tuesday. Friday and Saturday are a different story)

Ok, gettin’ thirsty now… Time to stop.

Well I hope that everyone has a great week, and gets some summery activities going while the weather is steamy!

Stay Hydrated and safe!

See everyone next Monday!

Please note:
The price at your local Costco takes precedent over the prices listed on this blog.
Costco liquidation/Manager’s Special items (ending in .97) vary from store to store.
An asterisk (*) on the price tag means the item is not being re-ordered.

If there is something you really want, ***double check the expiry date*** as some Costco sales items do end mid-week.

The food brands available can differ from region to region. Pictures are taken at a store in Ontario. Sale items should apply to Costco locations in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Nova Scotia, if the item is in stock at your store. There will likely be a few deals not shown here in your store. If this blog has helped you save money, consider sharing www.cocoeast.ca with your friends and family! If you see deals at your store that aren’t on this blog, post them in the comments and help spread the money saving love!

  1. Thank you for doing this for us. I take my 96 year old mother on a Costco visit when she’s up to it. This helps me plan our visits on weeks where things she uses are on sale.

  2. thanks a lot for the hard work.

any noticed the stolen golf glove .. not sure if its like that or what but if stolen, thats is some disgusting behavior.

    • Thank you Laura, I didnt investigate the glove pack to see if it was stolen or just removed… Lets hope for being removed…

  3. Thanks very much again for all your hard work! It is very much appreciated! Always check your blog before my Costco run.

By the way, Mott’s makes a seasoned rimming mix that is awesome!
I think I got it at a regular grocery store. Also very good on eggs.

    • Thanks again Layla Bay! As you know I enjoy doing this.
I havnt tried the Motts rimmer, just celery salt from bulk barn… If you think its good Ill give it a try though!
      Scrambled? Sunny side up? Poached??

  4. Thank you for doing this…as somebody with a physical issue..bad leg…this is really a help to me! Stay cool?

    • Thank you Carol, Im glad you are able to get so much use out of the blog and the sales!
Staying cool right now is not an option, haha!

    • Thanks Angie, I’m a master martini crafter… I’m a Vodka martini person and I usually go for 2 oz. vodka, a small splash of vermouth in the glass then swirl it around for a few seconds and dump it out (seems silly but it flavors the glass and you don’t want too much vermouth in a martini Dry martini is very little vermouth, a wet martini is a lot of vermouth and those are not for me) and a small splash of olive brine. shake shake shake with lots of ice, then strain into a martini glass and enjoy!

    • Hey DJ, I’m not too sure… Unfortunately its a clearance item in our store (Kingston, ON) so they won’t be re-ordering them. Still a decent amount of them here though if you’re passing through the area.

  5. I ran in to pick up the $299 lawn mower you showed above. I got the last one at my local store, but it was the floor model and they knocked it down to $249 because they couldn’t find the manual, which is available online. So, score! Thanks for the lead.

  6. I m confused – the store flyer says dates are July 2 – 8 while yours are July 3 – 9. I always thought Sunday or Monday was the start of new deals. Love that you do this service
