Welcome back to rainy Weekend update, and Happy St.Patrick’s day!
Though I enjoy celebrating my Irish roots, it seems like so does everyone else! This makes the pubs, restaurants, bars (and basically anywhere downtown) a little less than entertaining to be around… So I’ll stay home and celebrate St.Patrick’s day form the comfort of my own home, and we can all celebrate Costco at the same time!
A few weeks ago reader Amanda was asking when the Apple watches would be going on sale, well… All of the Apple watches are on sale, so if you’re in the market for one (Amanda!) you’ve got 12 days to do it!
The Keepcool shopping cooler is on sale for $2.00 off @ $9.99, I bought one of these a while ago and it basically lives in my car now. It’s really handy to have, and does a great job of keeping groceries cool, as per it’s namesake.
I’ve also found out that Ewok likes to sleep on it when it does make it’s way inside, so it doubles as a cat bed too. Not a bad dual purpose I suppose?
I was really excited to finally see corn tortillas at Costco today! First off, gluten free is always a bonus in this house, and 2nd to me nothing is more delicious and traditional than a warm, and slightly charred corn tortilla- when it comes to making tacos that is!
I didn’t pick them up today since tacos aren’t on the dinner menu this weekend, but I feel like I can plan on making that happen next week so I’ll let you know how they are! Anyone out there tried these yet?
It seems that some of you remember a time when those huge pepper mills were a sign of a classy joint! I certainly agree that fresh cracked pepper is the only way to go, the pre-ground stuff isn’t anywhere near the same, the smell isn’t even that appealing to me. However, when I saw a 3 foot pepper grinder in Costco I just had a little chuckle. I guess it would’ve been a perfect grinder to have when we were socially distancing right? You could grind pepper for someone from the other side of the table!
I’ve been using those 2 memory foam pillows for about a week now. (Just in case you don’t know which ones I’m talking about here they are!)
I absolutely enjoy them both quite a bit! I feel like they give my head and neck way more support than my older pillows, and seem to bounce back to normal form pretty quick; which is handy if you toss and turn a bit like me. Though I can’t speak to the differences between them, they both seem to feel pretty well the same, though maybe when it gets to be a little hotter at night I’ll notice the cooling effect of the graphite one a little more?
Cathy and Jack G. both commented on how they are a little smaller than the usual queen sized pillow covers and how they slip around in them. No I know what you’re talking about! Every day they pillows are like half out of the covers, and they do slip around in them a fair bit. It doesn’t bother me at all, just a funny observation!
Anyhow, I’ll let you get at your shopping folks. Enjoy your celebrations today (if you’re having any) and have a great weekend!
See you all soon.
Cheers.
Don’t forget to check in with Rhonda over at the Costco Quebec Fan Blog and see what fun sales are happening there!
