Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Kirkland Signature Fully Cooked Chicken Sausages, Costco Kirkland Signature Quesadillas and Mexican Style Corn Salad and the Costco Kirkland Signature Tortellini Pasta Salad.

I’ve tried a few KFI products from Costco before like the butter chicken sauce, coconut curry sauce and the vindaloo cooking sauce. When I saw this new butter chicken meal I decided to give it a try. I paid $19.99 Canadian for the box that comes with two packs of butter chicken. One box is enough for a family of four and one individual pack is enough for two people.

There’s only one method listed to heat the butter chicken where you boil the bag in water. The chicken is already cooked so you’re just heating it. The butter chicken needs to be kept in the refrigerator or it could be frozen if you’re not going to use it by the best before date. The best before date is around three months from when I bought it.

In 1/2 cup of butter chicken there are 180 calories, eight grams of fat, seven grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, four grams of sugar, 21 grams of protein and 860 milligrams of sodium. The ingredients list is pretty short and sweet.

There’s a lot more sauce than chicken. I usually find meals like this lacking in meat and having too much sauce. The chicken that is there seems to be decent quality though. There’s a a tad more than a mild amount of heat, which I like. The sauce is very good and if you like butter chicken you’ll be sure to enjoy this.
