I love all kinds of spring rolls but I haven’t tried these Royal Asia Vegetable Spring Rolls before so I picked up a box to try. The 1.42 kilogram box comes with 50 spring rolls and I paid $14.99 Canadian.
You can bake or air fry the spring rolls to heat them up. I think air frying results in a crispier spring roll. The best before date on the box is about… and the spring rolls need to be kept frozen. These are great as a lunch, snack, appetizer or side.
Three spring rolls contain 150 calories, six grams of fat, 20 grams of carbohydrates, four grams of fibre, two grams of sugar, six grams of protein and 380 milligrams of sodium.
The spring rolls contain jicama, carrot, cabbage, sweet potato, edamame, bamboo shoots, onion and leeks. They contain soy and wheat but are vegetarian and vegan.
I baked these in the oven and they turned out to be crispy and flaky, I’m not sure if doing them in the air fryer could get them any crispier. On their own, they’re not really flavorful but the sauce adds a nice, sweet, warm ginger flavor. I usually opt for pork or chicken spring rolls and felt like I was missing the meat in these. If you’re vegan they’re a good option because they have more than just cabbage and carrots. I don’t mind these, I just think there’s better options at Costco like the Minh Pork Egg Rolls or the Summ! Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls.
