Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Partini Creamy Stuffed Mushrooms, Costco Kirkland Signature Mini Brioche Filled with Pastry Cream and the Costco Witor’s Italian Truffles.

It’s freezing cold here in Edmonton so I picked up a new soup to try from Costco. There’s two 700 milliliter containers of soup in the pack and I paid $13.99 Canadian for the soups.

The soup can be heated in the microwave or on the stovetop. Soup makes a perfect lunch or dinner and this would be great with a grilled cheese sandwich. The expiry date on the soup is over two months from when I purchased it and it should be kept in the refrigerator.

A cup of soup has 190 calories, 12 grams of fat, 16 grams of carbs, one gram of fibre, 10 grams of sugar, three grams of protein and 760 milligrams of sodium. That’s quite a bit of sodium! The soup is higher in fat probably because of the cream and cheese. This soup is gluten-free but not dairy-free.

This soup is a nice combination of smoky and sweet. It’s a heavy, creamy soup, like a bisque. It’s got a lot of chunks of red pepper and onions in it which I liked. The cheese flavour isn’t super pronounced but it’s there and adds some nice subtle cheesiness. Overall this is a pretty tasty soup and I enjoyed it on a very cold day!
