Natalie reviews: PG Bruschetta

I went to Costco yesterday and during my trip I spotted this bruschetta and decided to pick it up even though there’s no way my small family can eat this much bruschetta in seven days.

The container costs $9.99 Canadian which isn’t bad considering how large a tub it is. 

The bruschetta needs to be kept refrigerated and the container suggests eating it within seven days of opening it. I wouldn’t recommend freezing it because I think the texture would change and be quite mushy. There’s many ways you can use this bruschetta, on crackers, bread, in pasta or on chicken.

Two tablespoons of bruschetta contain 30 calories, two and a half grams of fat, two grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre, one gram of sugar and 170 milligrams of sodium. The bruschetta is low in calories, fat and carbohydrates! The ingredients list is also really impressive with their only being whole, fresh ingredients. I absolutely love that they use olive oil in the bruschetta instead of a seed oil. 

I really like this bruschetta! I know bruschetta is really simple to make at home but this store-bought version is pretty good. The tomatoes are fresh tasting and not too soft, there isn’t a ton of onions which I like. There’s noticeable notes of fresh oregano and basil and it’s not salty. There’s a ton of flavor in this bruschetta so a little goes a long way! I ate the bruschetta with the Simple Mills Almond Flour Crackers from Costco and found it to be a tasty snack.

  1. 7 day expiry?? Pfffft. 😝 I’ve been buying this stuff for years and keep it for months in the frig with absolutely no ill side effects. It’s never gone bad! I cook with it, especially sauteed boneless skinless chicken breasts, also pork chops. Give it a try! 😁
