Last year at around this time we went to Hawaii and we’re not going anywhere this year so I picked up these Honolulu Cookie Company Pineapple Macadamia Bites cookies to hopefully give me a little taste of the tropics!
I paid $14.99 Canadian for the bag which doesn’t seem that expensive to me. I wonder if the same bag of cookies would actually cost a lot more in Hawaii.
The bag has a best before date that’s nine months from when I purchased them. These are great small cookies to have with coffee or tea in the morning, an afternoon snack or dessert. They’re a bit crumbly so I probably wouldn’t eat them in my car or on-the-go.
In five cookies there are 140 calories, eight grams of fat, 16 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre, six grams of sugar two grams of protein and 80 milligrams of sodium. That’s actually not that many calories or too much sugar for five of these! They are small but three is more than enough for me. The cookies have milk, barley, wheat, egg and macadamia nuts and may contain peanuts and other tree nuts.
Like I said the cookies are a bit crumbly and have small crumbs all over them. I was surprised by how much they taste like pineapple. Not an artificial pineapple but a natural, not too sweet tasting pineapple. The macadamia flavor isn’t very noticeable. They’re pretty delicious and it’s hard to stop eating them once you start! They definitely remind me of the tropics!
