Welcome back to the weekend update everybody!
Well it certainly was a good day for people watching… Some days are just like that, you walk in and take a look around and just, you can feel it… It’s palpable, you can cut the weirdness with a butter knife. Like people opened up their horoscopes and it said “Mercury is in retrograde, or gatorade or something like that so you should go to Costco and be a weirdo” and they said “OK, let’s go! I’ve always wanted to stand in the middle of the aisle with my mask on my chin and shake up a 2 pack of whipped cream!” (Actual site from the warehouse today) That was certainly the strangest of the sights today, but the kid who kept putting the lantern back on the cart every time his Mom took it off the cart was another good one… I’m not sure if they ever made it out of that aisle…
Weirdness aside, Diane had all of her lovely Valentines day bouquets out and ready for us!
And these Orchids, the colors were absolutely stunning!
I was tempted to grab one, but I didn’t want my other ones at home to get jealous. The one on the right is flowering again, but the other guy is still a little sad…
I’m not an Orchid expert by any means, I give them 3 ice cubes a week and have an Orchid food spray that I use every other week or so, but if any of you are Ochid-ologists and can offer advice I’d be happy to hear it!
Ash in the clothing department pointed out today that these Realtree fleece hoodies were new today, and at $19.99 are at least 2 or 3 times cheaper than Canadian Tire.
They did feel really nice, so if you’re in the market for a new sweatshirt I’d strike while the iron is hot. (Or strike before they sell out!)
I was happy to see that the Yves Veggie Cuisine Veggie burgers are back on the shelves.
They were one of our favorites, and I didn’t stock up before they stopped carrying them last time so you know what they say right? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice… Well you can’t fool me twice!”… That’s how it goes right?
Ok, well here’s a little preview of the sales for you while I look up that saying.
Finish Quantum dish detergent 100 tabs -$4.50 @ $18.49
Tru Fru chocolate strawberries 454g -$2.50 @ $8.99
Baton Rouge BBQ pulled pork 2 x 385g -$2.00 @ $7.99
Tilley 2pk. t-shirt w/pocket ladies sizes S-XXL -$4.00 @ $12.99
Dyson Ball Animal 2 origin vacuum -$80.00 @ $399.99
Sunbeam power failure light pack of 3 -$8.00 @ $23.99
Dynamic Duo potatoes are on sale for $2.00 off @ a ridiculous $4.99 for a 5lb bag.
I love these little guys, they’re prefect for roasting up in the cast iron skillet because they cook through in the perfect amount of time to still give their skins a little bit of a char for a nice creamy inside and crispy outside.
And while I haven’t tried any of the Baton rouge products yet, the BBQ pulled pork is on sale for $7.99, and the Molinaro’s stone baked pizza kit is on sale for $7.49.
I mean, it seems as though they’re saying “we belong together!” It is Valentines day after all, and if you haven’t had pulled pork on a pizza you are indeed missing out!
On that mouth watering note, I’m going to crawl into bed.
Enjoy your weekend folks, and I’ll be seeing you on Monday which is of course Valentines Day.
Hubba Hubba!
I think it’s important to remember that we’re not out of the corona virus weeds yet, and each province has their own Health recommendations based on the provinces individual risk assessment and I would recommend that you follow the recommendations for your specific province. I bought the feather light hair dryer last week, I paid $118.00 for it. I saw it on sale for $78.00. I took the receipt back to Costco and was given back the difference. It amounted to $45.00 and change. Did this also a couple of weeks ago with a paper shredder. Costco will honour the sale for 30 days, I’m glad I was able to do that.and it was last weeks Costco east blog that I saw the items on sale. Keep your eyes open for those sales after you buy stuff at full price. Thank you for posting this blog every week, you saved me some cash.

Strong work Cat 🙌! If you get the Costco app and set up an account, you’ll be able to access your receipts (both online & warehouse purchases) on the app and not have to worry about finding a receipt. Very cool feature imho 😁
Cheers, Jan
It seems lately that I’m in there every week with receipts to price match. I wouldn’t even know about some of these sales without this blog. I read it faithfully. Many thanks Costcoeast for all your hard work posting these sales!
I loved that feature on the app. However today when I went to use it the only purchases that are showing up are my February receipts. Nothing prior…..very strange!
Hey Susan, I just checked mine and it went back to January 2021. Did you select the drop down menu for earlier dates?
molinaros is cheaper at no frill $3 for 2 pizza shells and sauce
Thanks very much for your weekend update 😀 Love the beautiful flowers, nice to see such colors on a cold winter day.
Stay safe and warm ❄☃️🌬❄🫖☕🍪
I miss going across the river to see weirdo’s at Walmart but I will head to my Costco to see if we have any weirdo’s here!
Ok one more thing.
To freeze my herbs I clean and dry them, then roll and wrap them in foil like a cigar. This way you can open them and chop off what you want, roll up again. Da da! Works wonderful.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Re the orchids, please don’t use ice cubes. Just take the clear plastic pot and run tepid tap water through and let drain. That’s all. Fertilize as usual. Those orchids are from south east Asia and don’t tolerate cold well, especially ice. As an orchid lover I take exception to using dye to colour them, they are most beautiful naturally.
