Hey there folks! I hope you all had a great long weekend and were able to unwind a little bit?!
Working in 2 restaurants in a city with 2 colleges and one university did not give me much time for relaxing, as all the students and their parents were in town… And boy did Costco ever look like it today! I mean it’s always busy after a long weekend, but this weekend in particular is usually a busier one.
The El Monterey chicken chimichangas were apparently a hit today, not sure if that’s related to the students being back or not…?
Seems like all of the sports & energy drinks are on sale as well!
I’m not big on the energy drinks personally, I get enough of a boost from my coffee in the morning, and they all kind of have a similar taste to them that I can’t quite get behind. But hey, to each their own, not everyone like black coffee either!
LG has a soundbar with wireless rear speakers and a soundwoofer on sale for 199.99 right now, and that is looking like a pretty tempting deal.
I’ve been eyeballing the Samsung ones for a while now, but I don’t think they have wireless rear speakers, which is a pretty sweet addition. Nothing quite as satisfying as watching a good movie with fantastic sound, and rich, deep bass…Something to think about indeed.
I also noticed the Sodastream duo bundle has now dropped to $99.97, which is a crazy low price! I love me some bubbles, so this is looking pretty tempting right now.
It’s funny, there are some people who don’t like carbonation, and some who love it. I love it obviously, but why do I love it and other don’t??? Anyhow, this one is definitely on my price drop list so if it hits 79.97, I’ll be grabbing it for sure!
I’ll also be grabbing some Hellmann’s mayo, as I always do when it goes on sale.
They last a long time with just the two of us here, but it does have a great shelf life as well. So might as well grab a few right?
Oh and Dom reserve tuna poke… I love it, you know I love, Costco knows I love it enough to finally have it available here (coincidence) and be on sale. So I will be stocking up on that as well!\
Salty, savoury and delicious… Add a bit more ginger, soy and some radishes, jalapenos, green onions and rice or noodles and you’ve got a full delicious meal!

Arrived at my Barrhaven Costco shortly after 11am Wednesday. I thought that the crowds might be reasonable. Fat chance — what a madhouse!. Hardly any carts at the entrance and the store was full of people. Is Christmas happening this week? Other stores that we visited afterwards were fairly quiet. I guess that everyone was at Costco.
I bought the LG S45T today. This is my 3rd Surround Sound unit. You won’t get deep, rich bass. This is the worst unit that I’ve ever purchased. The LG website shows the inner works of the soundbar are made from recycled plastic. Well, it sounds like it. My others were DOLBY 5.1 surround, this is 4.1. The LG Canadian website sells it for $249.99, not $299.99.
My VIZIO 5.1 surround unit sounds much better. Yes, deep, rich bass and rear effects that will shock you back to full alertness if you are dozing.
Unless this is your first soundbar, forget it. My VIZIO (Costco) unit WAS THE SAME PRICE and is fantastic.
As it says in the YOUTUBE videos, it is not WIRELESS unless you have a different idea of the meaning of wireless. The two surround rear speakers are wired to each other, so there is no other choice. Therefore, speaker wires on your floor.
