In the Wednesday Super Post I pick an entire section of Costco and take pictures of ALL of the items for you see!

Please note:
The price at your local Costco takes precedent (or precedence) over the prices listed on this blog.
Costco liquidation/Manager’s Special items (ending in .97) vary from store to store.
An asterisk (*) on the price tag means the item is not being re-ordered.
If there is something you really want, ***double-check the expiry date*** as some Costco sales items do end mid-week.
Hey there folks, and welcome to this weeks superpost!
As a big cooking enthusiast I love having a well stocked spice cupboard. It seems like there’s always some staples that I like to have on hand. Though interestingly enough 2 of my usual go to’s were not on the shelf this time…
For me the most versatile pre-made seasonings are the Italian, and Greek blends. They seem to go with pretty well anything, or can add that little bit of depth to almost anything including salad dressings. And then I always like to have turmeric, cumin and coriander. .. Those are 3 that I gotta have, and the bare bones basics for a lot of what we’re cooking.
Saffron is another one of those key ingredients that you should always have around. There really is no substitute for it as far as I know!
Dates are delicious, especially in salads. I was introduced to this last year, probably way later than I should have been.
If you haven’t tried dates in a salad I suggest you try it now. It adds such a rich & sweet dimension to your salads that gives you a lot of room to play around with the dressing and other ingredients.Try it folks!
OK, bed time. Have a great night, enjoy the aisle, and I’ll see you soon.
Cheers!
If you live in the Quebec don’t forget to check in on Melissa and see what sales might be happening at the Costco warehouses in the Quebec region! (follow this link!)
I dates but haven’t tried them in a salad! The Terra Delyssa ones are good. I wonder if the other ones are worth twice the price?
We had the Boursin ravioli tonight with olive oil, fresh basil, pepper and parm….. yum! I think next time I’ll add some browned creminis to kick it up a notch without overpowering the cheese filling. Any other suggestions? It paired very nicely with a Pinot Noir 😋.
Cheers 🍷!
That sounds delicious Jan! Adding mushrooms is a great idea. I suppose you could make some sort of creamy marsala mushroom sauce to pour overtop, but then as you said you might overpower the filling. I think your spot on with the mushrooms though!
