Natlaie reviews: Clean Naturally Chicken Red Pepper Mozzarella Sausages

Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Kirkland Signature Apple Cinnamon Fudge Cookies, Costco Kirkland Signature Mango Passion Fruit Mousse Cake and the Costco Just Bare Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks.

If you like my reviews for Costco food products, the best thing is that you can follow me on Instagram or Facebook and tell your friends about my blog Costcuisine, where I review new Costco food products each week! You can also check out my YouTube channel, where I do video reviews!

I’ve been eyeing these chicken sausages from Costco for awhile and finally decided to pick them up to try. The pack comes with 16 large sausages and I paid $18.99 Canadian for the pack, which isn’t too expensive in my opinion.

You can grill the sauages or heat them in the microwave. We chose to grill them because I wanted that char/sear on the sausages. The best before date is just over a month from when I purchased the sausages and they need to be kept refrigerated. These work well without a bun, you can slice them up and serve them over salad, have them with roasted potatoes or rice or enjoy them on a hot summer day with coleslaw or potato salad.

In one sausage there are 150 calories, eight grams of fat, two grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, one gram of sugar, 17 grams of protein and 620 milligrams of sodium. The ingredients list is pretty standard with chicken being the main ingredient. There isn’t any wheat listed as an ingredient but the package does state “may contain wheat”.

I really like these sausages! The red pepper and mozzarella flavor isn’t as strong as I thought it would be which is nice because it means they’re pretty versatile. I could even see enjoying them for breakfast. I would describe the flavor as a bit sweet and smoky. The casing is kind of tough which I don’t love but that didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment of the sausages. You could serve them in a bun as a hot dog or on their own with a salad or side of rice.
