Bachan’s Barbecue Sauce Review

Bachan's Barbecue Sauce

Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Kirkland Signature Tom Yum Soup, Costco Kirkland Signature Rustin Italian Loaf and the Costco Kirkland Signature Lager.

If you like my reviews for Costco food products, the best thing is that you can follow me on Instagram or Facebook and tell your friends about my blog Costcuisine, where I review new Costco food products each week! You can also check out my YouTube channel, where I do video reviews!

We barbecue a lot during the summer months and I always like trying new barbecue sauces so when I saw this Bachan’s Japanese Barbecue Sauce at Costco I decided to try it. At first glance i noticed the barbecue sauce is a lot thinner in the bottle than other barbecue sauces I usually buy, more liquidy. I paid $12.99 Canadian for the 739 milliliter container which isn’t really that cheap.

The best before date is about seven months from when I purchased the barbecue sauce. The sauce should be refrigerated once opened. After trying this I’d say it works well as a marinade, dip or sauce.  You can put it on rice, use it to make a stir fry or even have it with sushi.

Two tablespoons of sauce has 80 calories, less than a gram of fat, 18 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre, 17 grams of sugar, two grams of protein and 1050 milligrams of sodium. The list of the ingredients is simple and wholesome.

This to me tastes like a really savory teriyaki sauce. It’s sweet, savory and has a touch of tang. The flavor is quite rice and you notice the ginger, soy and garlic. Some might find it a little too salty but I didn’t mind. It’s definitely unique and I enjoyed it on chicken wings as a dip!
